Orinda Academy Helps Clean Up Orinda Creeks

Orinda Creeks Cleanup

On March 23, 2012, Orinda Academy put its philosophy of Community Service into action. Students and faculty members braved mud and stinging plants to help out their community by participating in a clean up of San Pablo Creek. Guided by the organization Friends of Orinda Creeks, students and teachers donned work gloves to pull out invasive species, gather trash, and spread mulch.

Community Cleanup

Orinda Academy students broke into groups that removed non-native and invasive plants like ivy and poison oak, while another group raked, turned,  and spread mulch on bare or muddy areas. Still another group picked-up and bagged the usual litter of water bottles and napkins as well as bike parts, a commercial blender and several brand new, left-foot tennis shoes. Students were rewarded for their hard work with a pizza picnic in Orinda Community Park.

Greetings from Orinda Academy!

Welcome sign on the blackboard

Welcome to the Cast page of Orinda Academy! We are so excited to be able to talk directly with our Fans, Followers, and reach out to potential students and parents from all of our social media outlets including this Cast Page, our Facebook, and our Twitter. At Orinda Academy, our students have the capability to do college preparatory work, but in some cases haven’t succeeded to their potential in school, quite often because of learning differences such as dyslexia, auditory processing problems, ADHD or other specific learning issues. Orinda Academy teachers know how to teach students with learning differences so that they can achieve academically in a college prep curriculum.

Our mission is to provide a college preparatory education to empower each student to reach his or her full potential as a successful, confident, self-reliant individual, including those smart, creative students with learning differences.

With over 30 years of experience, Orinda Academy is a full accredited, independent, college preparatory school, serving boys and girls in grades 6-12. Call us today at (925) 254-7553 or visit our website for more information about our academics and student life. We are here and happy to answer any questions you may have!
